RMA figures are adjusted for planted acres when it comes to ARC-Co. RMA numbers are based upon harvested acreage. So the actual RMA bushels are not changed.
Yes RMA numbers could be used with some adjustment for non-insured. Silage doesn’t play a role in either set of numbers. However RMA numbers aren’t perfect either as you are likely aware if you store grain after reporting yields. So a 1% miss in insurance reported yield is almost 2 bu. on national yield. We need to take into account what amount of accuracy we need to feel comfortable. | |
