Are you saying RMA has less response rates? That doesn't make sense. There has got to be way more acres insured than acres NASS gets surveys on. RMA should be true yields. I would be completely fine if RMA yields are higher than NASS. At least those are actual certified yields not estimates.

So, after reading into that a little bit they still fudge the RMA numbers. What's the point in that? All we need is total production. So, leave unharvests acres at 0 yield because that's what they are. Don't really understand the need to separate harvested and unharvested on the NASS or RMA side of things. Planted acres x RMA average - Silage bushels = Total production then take total production x a fudge factor number that makes up for uninsured acres. Doesn't seem all that hard to me and I'm just a dumb farmer.
