Earlville, NY | Appreciate all the comments, I was surprised how many were reasonably worded against football.
We're going to give practice a go tomorrow and see how his foot and attitude go.
Re coaches and parents; already seen some fathers talking to their nine, ten, eleven year old boys about putting in more effort, pay attention to the coach, don't goof around with your friends etc. My son's head coach tells the kids if they want to be starters they need to be serious about practice. I always think 'you've got two dozen kids, are you really going to sit some of them?'
There's two girls playing tackle in my son's team,they both wrestle as well...one is a real athlete. Big, strong, runs every drill and play hard as she can. Plays line both sides and occasional receiver. Fun to watch, just maybe not for my kid. | |
