I have had a few brilliant ideas over the years but where I listened to my FIL and put $ into the Fidelity total market index fund it has, over time,  outperformed all my other brilliant ideas.  FSKAX.

Of course, maybe that is just chasing the recent trend of index funds.  Dunno, but working for me.
