Your results are almost exactly what you should see. The saved seed would have more variation from plant to plant and should yield about 20% less on average. The reason being is that in hybrid seed corn all the plants have the same genetic makeup and therefore should all look alike. The saved seed is the F2 generation and those plants pollinated themselves and now the genetic makeup is mixed from plant to plant-therefore the variation.
