It could be that the market tanked, or field had already been harvested and you were just seeing what was left behind. Most fruit/vegetable crops have little to no market if at all blemished in the field. It's not uncommon for someone to ask "when are going to harvest that field?", and I say "we already did. You're seeing the unsaleable 20%." Especially with cucurbits, there's always going to be plenty that don't make the grade.
