coast of Maine | The veg / fruit world is way more gambling on market trends than many think. There are no gauranteed deals. Many verbal agreements . Demand goes south? Eat it, Quality sub super? Eat it,,something like 9/11,,? Eat it all if it was at all geared to Halloween,chains suck as they have the power ,, say they need 10 semi a day of potatoes,, they order 11 so in case one is sen par,, now what if they are all still good? They kick the extra load and the grower gets screwed, reshuffling shipped again,, crazy,, I have left many acres every season due to swings of weather and demand, some cost 6 grand an acre to get to the point of abandonment,, just the veg fruit world | |
