Same here but now I know better. E. Coli O157 can be a deadly customer.
It can be, but so can the common cold. Some people have immunity to E coli and most people can build up that immunity if they want to.
When it comes to bacteria and viruses, it looks to me like the things we try to avoid are the things that will get us. Exposure is key to immunity. Hantavirus is a great example. Friend of mine did a project for med school about hantavirus. Took blood samples from hundreds of mice on their farm. Over 1/4 of them carried hantavirus. And yet I have never heard of a farm kid coming down with hantavirus. Only seems to affect city kids. |
