A good slab begins with the substrate prep. Get that right and you have more options when the mud arrives. I'm not a fan of fiber. If they are counting on that for tensile strength, forget it. #4 rebar on 18" centers would have been plenty.
I assume that they'll use a mini ex to dig the footing now that the center is set? I'd want to see the outside deeper than that. And I'd lay three runs of #6 rebar several inches off the bottom. Also, you should have a proper joint between the two pours. Some sort of material to keep them slightly separated. I would not try to pin them together.
Make sure both pours are kept wet. A good sealer, or a sheet of plastic, or just wet straw. | |
