I don't think there was any panic. The internal polling was showing them their candidate was going to lose and they had to figure out a way to oust him. That is why they called for the earliest debate ever.
I'm still of the opinion that Biden was mad enough about the deal that he endorsed Kamala. That's the part that wasn't in the plan. I guess we'll see how that works out. But they are trying their damndest to keep her under wraps. I guess we'll see how this all sorts itself out.
