Seems like it’s just people jabbing at the politics of others.

Democrats and republicans have valid points on both sides. I’m a right leaning independent. Basically if you’re a democrat you think I’m a republican and if you’re a republican you think I’m a democrat.

I really don’t believe the president controls my fate as much as this place lets on.

The only president that has really affected my life was Clinton, for the better. He down sized the military and I got out 6 mouths early! Win win. He also got more people off welfare than any other president. Also a win for tax payers

So what are you guys doing to advance the farm in times of cheap commodities? I personally think $3.75 corn is fairly priced for both end users and producers. Production ag just let their inputs get out of control.

I’m watching the books a lot better on the cattle operation and trying to move them when there is a profit instead of when they are fat.

Here are a few ideas instead of bitching about the price of corn, you can’t control it anyways.

Bull hauler, the semi is just sitting there. Pig hauler, pays more than hauling cattle and you will be home every night, unfortunately you need to power wash a trailer.

Stock cows/ cattle, really screws up the weekends at the lake.

Drone spraying, looks like over saturation is 2 years out.

Independent chemical sales, works out well for a very personable neighbor. I couldn’t do it.

Custom chopping.

Custom grinding.

Build a fertilizer storage facility, hire the neighbor to plant your corn and do spring applied n. The need is there locally. Coops can’t get it done in a timely manner. Just do yours in the fall so the farmers don’t complain your doing yours instead it theirs when crunch time hits.

Point is, there is a lot more to farming than dragging a bean planer across acres.

Any great ideas out there?
