McLean county IL | Yes I had it happen this summer on my elderly mom's bank I'm POA for her In June I cashed in some oh her annuity investment with a Farm Bureau insurance company. She had some bills coming up. That in itself was a process and took about two weeks for the check It was around $ 50,000 check
So I take check to her bank and deposited it. Teller informed me that itd take seven days hold as it is " a large check ." I asked if this was the bank policy or banking industry policy? He claimed the latter. Good thing he told me because it was ready to pay couple bills pending. Her account would have bounced !
