| Yup. There's some interesting history on it. Not all can be found online. They used a lot of wood not just for the underground supports, but also for the above ground structures. One location on a cattle ranch was once known as "Tent City". The MKT RR had a track through there that serviced some of the mines. I know of one spot where the concrete cistern can still be seen in front of where a MKT depot once stood. A small water tower may still be standing adjacent to a once busy mine where "MKT" is still visible on at least one side of the small water tower. The main coal mine office remains are there nearby along with the huge company safe still bolted down. At least all that was still there the last time I visited the area. There is or was a steam powered winch which pulled the loaded coal cars out of the mine. Originally, mules were used.
