I have had the same thoughts. I really wanted to use steel toolbar. I have a couple of 5x7 pieces 30 foot long I just can't bring myself to cut up. Would need some sheet metal to cap them with. I have though about the cross ties. Don't know how good the ones at the lumber shed are.
