Madison Co. Virginia | Sidenote -- My great-grandad came home in 1936 with a handful of tractor pamphlets. He handed those to his 10-year-old son, my grandad, and asked him to pick out a tractor. Unfortunately, I only heard that story after my grandad passed away, so I never got to ask him how he decided on the Deere A. It would also be very interesting to have seen the pamphlets that he was given to choose from.
That was to replace an old Fordson they had at the time, along with finally retiring the last of the horses. The Fordson itself had replaced an IH Mogul that self-destructed. | |
