a 5” incision just to the right of the belly button from exploratory surgery. The appendix was ruptured but it was in the middle of the abdomen instead of in the right side so the doctors cut me up the middle to look around in there. This was in 1975 before modern scanning methods were available. What I want to hear is real life experiences good or bad.
Jim ,interesting , I don't have hernia (yet) but ib 1989 had same thing, hospital did tests ,don't know what's wrong...cut belly open ,full of pus and ruptured appendix
Ironically in 1998 Son at University feels sick, goes to hospital early Monday, they send him home...thinks its too much food/partying
Wednesdy morning about 5 am he calls, " I am really sick,can't move,can you call my roomates back to take me to hospital? " Which I did ,idk why we didn't call 911, anyways ,same thing,do exploratory cut...burst appendix....both of us pretty sick,10 days in hospital

Now , not to make light of rupture but those belly rupture pigs all went as bbq's
