Anyone can pick ears and show them off.  The important thing is yield and moisture at maturity.
There is really nothing to be gained until harvest.



I appreciate the OP taking the time to discuss the characteristics of the ears of each variety and the pictures.  It's interesting to some of us even though it might not be accurate as far as final yield is concerned.
