Hooker Twp,Ne | Well I’m going to try to pick some brains here. Salesman shows up today about carbon credits and a product they to sale. Basicly you spray their product on the ground in the spring and fall with free financial charge but you enter into carbon credit program with them. The carbon credit program basicly pays for the product and spraying. Said they were working with some airline with carbon credits. Also they wanted easements to your land for soil testing yearly. Also suppose to need less nitrogen and no phosphate. Now I’m getting nervous. So I ask for full contract disclosure. Didn’t have one with him. They want a 10 year commitment. Now really nervous. So I tell him I have to think about it. Now question comes up between son and me and rent land. Does the carbon credit belong to landlord or tenant. Does it fall under mineral rights? Carbon is in the soil same as a mineral.
