Highland Center, in Southeast Iowa

farmdude - 8/29/2024 10:30 Used to be if I needed to see my doctor I seen him the same day or 1 day later. But I guess two months later is fine.Just for a checkup I'm feeling fine. But mom would be amazed today if she was still with us.How slow the medical business works anymore. She usually called an seen the doctor the same day or 1 day later. Most times.Yeh if it's anything serious I can go to the emergency room.We need an urgent care bad But small towns don't have those.A mom with small kids must be a nightmare getting medical care on a timely basis.Sore throats flu bugs what's a person to do.Hats off to doctors they have a hectic schedule No way I could do it.

Ahhh..........the olden days! When I was a kid, the local small-town doctor's office opened at 7am. The goal was, if you or a kid had a sore throat, fever, etc etc, you'd be out the door of your house by 6:40am at latest, be there when he unlocked the door..   So were about 14 other people. Sit in the waiting room, quietly, till his nurse, Bertha, came to the doorway and called "next"...honor system among the waiting folks and eventually everyone was seen. And arrived at school with a short note signed by Dr Perkins that he'd seen you and you were good to be around other people.
