SW OH | Where I was growing up going to the doctor meant going to his office, writing your name on the list, first come, first serve unless you were bleeding bad. That got you in right away. It was also $20 for most anything.
In August 2020 I had my 3rd staph infection in a year. First 1 family doctor got me in next day. Second 1 during the start of covid they just called in antibiotics to the pharmacy. The third I let go a little too far before I called them. Said they could see me in about 3 weeks. I told them how bad it was and they said, sorry we're busy catching up on wellness checks. Went to urgent care. They told me to go straight to the ER. 4 hours later I was in a hospital bed for 6 days.
About a month later I called my family doctors office and told them what happened, what I thought of them, and told them to print and mail all my medical records to me, I'm taking my business elsewhere. I haven't had a need for quick medical care since so not sure how current doctor will be.
