Strathcona, mn | Larry, where at in Mn are you? Wheat sitting out in field during wet, humid, moist conditions goes out of condition fast…. Either falling numbers or vomitoxin. With the current weather pattern in nw Mn I’d run combine at any chance possible as wheat samples are progressively getting worse by the day and will continue to do so. You can deal with moisture in bin or take discount at elevator easier than quality discounts. Either way is a lose lose situation at current prices. Cool damp weather doesn’t go well for wheat harvest. Lots of it left to go up here….. no one is bragging about big harvest days. Hard to get a lot cut every day when you can’t start till 12-2:00 and done by 6-7pm. | |
