Subject: our low carb ketogenic evening meal

Pittsburg, Kansas

RDinMN - 8/28/2024 09:43  It's just that there are many nutrients that are needed and in short supply with a very strict keto diet. It's takes a lot of diligence to make up for those nutrients if you are going to be on a very low carbohydrate diet.

I would disagree with that. When we started low carb it was 20 grams or less a day of carbs. So it was also ketogenic. But we had LOTS of green vegetables in stir fry and otherwise. Cabbage, asparagus, cauliflower, salad greens of various kinds, tomatoes, blueberries, strawberries as well as fish and all kinds of meat. What would we have been short of? That was all on a very strict low carb diet.

Now we more lean towards more meat and very few vegetables. I will post a picture of last nights meal and desert. Fresh smoked pork belly, brisket (so you can't accuse of us lacking variety, LOL), cheese casserole (cream cheese and goat cheese) topped with caramelized onions, Greek style olives and dill pickles. Deviled eggs. (use cream cheese instead of mayo). For desert home made plain yogurt (made entirely from heavy cream) topped with pecans and blueberries. The chocolate chaffel is made of eggs and coconut or chicken flour and is low carb. Very typical type of meal we eat at home. We ate lunch out and the Mall Deli on Wednesday has subs get three for the price of two. We ordered them without buns warm and they came with lettuce, tomato and onion with a dill pickle spear. Wife avoided the lettuce and tomato but ate the rest. I ate it all. Probably a half pound of deli sliced meat on each sandwich. Wife ate one and I ate about one and a half, taking the remainder home. so we got some veggie for lunch. Not an unusual day for us at all. I don't see where we are lacking any nutrients. We do take a multi vitamin more as just a "will not hurt us" rather than thinking we need it. It was all delicious, by the way. My wife is a wonderful cook.

And how do you explain the Petersons eating only meat for the last six or seven years? Here is Tammy (Jordan's wife) giving her experience #mce_temp_url#and how it improved her health. That family overcame almost unbelievable health obstacles by eating nothing other than ruminant meat and drinking water. Why haven't they died of scurvy or some other lack of nutrients?

We are going on six years on very low carb ketogenic, don't feel like we are missing anything, and have had immense health improvements that I have listed before. How can we have so many improvements yet lacking in important nutrients? That argument doesn't hold much water with me.
