Subject: Drying Soybeans

Lower Indiana Hill Country

I have a shivvers system and am considering drying my soybeans this year to get harvest started sooner and limit the amount of 9% beans going into the bin.  It seems to me that when soybeans first get to 15% that there are still a lot of green beans in the field, then when those beans get to 15%, the rest are already at 10%.  how do you manage that scenario?

I plan to keep the heat at 110F and transfer beans out of the drying bin into the storage bin to cool them.

Any other comments are appreciated (or not).
