NW, Pennsylvania | I do not have roundup resistant giant rag weed and I rotate the field into a forage crops, so if you do this might not work for you. I first apply a full rate of roundup with 5 gpa spray coverage in the spring and then I apply generic Lumax ( Atrazine, metolachlor, and Meso) with full rate of roundup right before I plant or right after (usually a day in between). I mix everything myself, so depending on what I am rotating into or what weed pressures there were I can adjust the amount of each component in Lumax. I usually only adjust the meso component to limit carry-over. If there are some escapes, I will go back over and apply a post application, but currently it has been fairly well where I don't have to do that much.
The pre program that I do would provide 2 different residuals for giant rag weed while the roundup provides a burndown for the weed. | |
