Subject: Wheat. Might be my last year.

So it’s a wet yr in my area. Lawn needs cutting every 3 days. Well Wheat I planted later then I wanted. Weed issue. So I wanted weeds actively growing, roundup, +7 days disc, plant wheat. So 2 weeks behind normal.
I did not spray during season as flush came late, decided roundup, wait +10 days, strait combine.
Tried 17% moist. But elevator has had vomotoxin so sample sent off before dumping…
I bring in sample, it’s fine but up to 17%. Thing is humidity seldom below 75%, often near 90%.
It’s 17 miles from home, custom harvester/hauler. How much, if any can standing wheat dry over 80% humidity?
I see 40% w/breeze it could dry 2% in +4 hours. But I think 80% it’s getting wetter.
Then elevator says “bring in what’s combined. But when you start again a new sample needs to be sent off”

Was he telling me to *read between the lines?* I said “well moist was 17 we need to be under 14% right?”
He just repeated. “Bring in what you have combined already. But if you start combining again another sample needs to be sent off before unloading”
Is he trying to avoid dealing w/samples, being nice so trailers don’t sit loaded for day? I don't know the guy to understand. Was that *wink, nod, just do it*?

But my biggest question. Without hand shelling, custom guy combining a small bit more. How much moisture can I expect to lose in +80% humidity as low?
If it was under 14 I would have had him go, haul. But it looks like Friday before humidity under 60%
