I plant a thick population in 7.5" rows with a drill. I use a heavy mix of pre, first pass post with more residual, and still need a second post pass most years. I can have waterhemp pop out of the canopy a month after the ground was shaded. Waterhemp is an evil weed that can germinate with zero sunlight.
