Did you spray the fungicide yourself? If so I could see why, but if you paid someone then frankly I think it was’t the smartest thing I heard of someone doing.


Sprayed with a Hagie. What is the difference if I sprayed it or someone else? They both cost money. At the time we thought we still had APH potential, but obviously August was the killer that year. Fields we sprayed were 30 to 50 bu better than those we didn't. It did appear all we did was help the crop insurance company. However, they had the aflatoxin testing so screwed up and with our yields being 30 to 140 we wound up storing it all and collecting quite a bit of money due to high aflatoxin which actually paid more than the fungicide cost. At the end of the day it was the right thing to do agronomically and financially.
