| A large area down here extending from I70 South and from St. Louis to the Indiana Border had numerous problems during planting with too much rain. Very little April corn was planted, and there were not many soybeans. Then the replanting started. Maybe 40-50% of the beans around me could be considered double crop due to the replanting and late planting.
3 Weeks ago, there were fields here that hadn't completely brown silked. Also, many missed the last round of rain two weeks ago. This low humidity, 96 degrees and wind is taking a toll. If the dryness continues, there will be a lot of potential 50-60 bushel beans that may not make 25. Late planted corn just in milk stage is already giving it up...
An inch last week would have made a big difference, but it didn't happen. Beans are shedding pods at an alarming rate.
