Usually right hand is standard.
If one half cost more fence than the other half, the other land owner will have to pitch in to make it equal.
Farms that were complete sections getting sold off, splits up the fences.
If it's not recorded, the fence you didn't do that wasn't yours, is now split up and your half is one you didn't do....
So if you just did half a fence, get it recoded in your abstract and neighbor's abstract what is yours so it follows.
