I understand the sarcasm but I would like to point out that your "no one in their right mind would ever..." is spot on.
The problem is, the DNC is being run by the extreme left and none of them are "in their right mind" (might be because Trump is living rent free in their heads).
A idea/proposal like this is just a short hop away from full blown communism.
