SW OH | These are safety features brought to you because someone died or was seriously injured because they were an idiot. The push button PTO coupler is an easy one. Some idiot died because they got to close to a spinning PTO, got caught and was twisted up like a pretzel. With a slide collar it's less likely to grab and kill you.
The door lock. My wife's jeep does the same thing, but only if your going slow, like less than 3 or 5 MPH. I made sure to test that while still at the dealership. Again, someone probably opened a door to look behind them and either fell out and was run over (I know a guy that did such and his truck ended up with him stuck under it and he was badly burned from the hot exhaust) or they could have been pinned between the door and a post or something immovable.
Bottom line is, every "safety" feature and warning was brought to you by a lawsuit from an idiot. At work we are continually lectured about engineering away any safety hazards. The problem is the world keeps building better idiots.
