I believe you're 100% right........it's nothing to worry about until or if it strangulates. The problem is, the thing isn't going to send out a warning message that says "hey, I think I'll strangulate Monday morning about 9:00, so it's convenient for you to get to your doctor".  So, I guess you need to decide whether you want to pursue the issue now and have some facts at hand, or wait till you're in real trouble.
