Daily limit move on corn was $.10 and beans $.30 in the 80's, and it would have to lock limit 2 days in a row to go to 1.5x limit as I recall. I was merchandising in summer of '88 and I recall beans going limit up $.30 first 2 days of the week, then expanded limit down $.45 next 2 days before a trade could be made.
