West Texas | The thread about big iron auctions in machinery talk below brings up a question that I had about auctiontime. I think I have only bought one item from there a number of years ago so not familiar with it at all. Yesterday I was going to watch a 9570R sell on there just to see what it brought. The auction was ending at 3:30. They clearly state that the time extends 20 seconds if there is a bid in the last minute. The bidding hit 309,000 at about 4:00 and I watched that item until about 5:10 when it sold for 309,000. The time kept extending 20 seconds for over an hour with no bids. Is this how it normally works and if so how long does it usually take after the last bid until the item is called sold? I know just put a max bid in and don’t worry about it but was just curious. | |
