Consolidation will not be complete until the Cook County Highway Department is in charge of the state
Lot of truth in that statement. Along with the fact that little money will trickle out of the cook county highway commission.
As for the original poster have you had a conversation (try not to complain to much) with the local road commissioner? Could be incompetence could be lack of funds. I really could see a consolidation going both ways up or down gonna depend upon who is in charge. Private contractors may be good as if they do a bad job they dont get called back.
Our locals do an ok job only complaint is not grading the ridge at the top of the ditch into the road so the water can get off the road. Next one over does not know what a mower is so some areas the brush is right at the edge of the road in areas. |
