Subject: RE: Gleaner T Series

Jeffersonville, OH
I don't know this for a fact, but I'm betting we went completely away from the 2 speed hydro motor we had in the S8 and S9. With the new transmissions ranges, and the lower reduction final drives, I'm betting it was no longer necessary to get good torque in the lower speed ranges. The handle now ACTS like a FENDT CVT joystick, in that it spring returns to center in normal operation, so there is no longer any "movement" to scale in the 2 speed hydro operation. What I drove it, it seemed VERY smooth up to high speed in each range, even with me trying to get used to it in only a couple minutes of operation.

There isn't much info out for us yet, as the real release is next week at Farm Progress...we have some advance info, but if I didn't think to ask it at the dealer launch last week, I'm going to have to wait for my Gleaner folks for a 100% answer...and right now, they are all trying to get ready for the show next week.

I am thinking that is smooth operation up to 9MPH is good enough for you, then the new transmission should be a solid performer. One thing I didn't do though, is see how much speed reduction we got in RWA vs 2wd. Didn't have much time in the combine to get my brain working right.
