Nc Ks.
Around June 1st. local coop was at 6.86. Told the wife if it hit 7.00 I'd forward contract some. 3 1/2 weeks later harvest was over and local price was 5.50. Couldn't believe it dropped that much in that short of time when all we'd been hearing was how bad the wheat was to the south and west. Well as I've finally accepted, it was just another case of agtalk and ' I don't know where it all came from". Wheat at local elevator closed at 4.74 today. Besides joining the group here that is skeptical of poor prospective crop yield reports, I'm joining the group of my neighbors who have said to hell with wheat and jumped on the corn and bean bandwagon. That should be ok shouldn't it? Some more acres of corn and beans?
