It's not a CVT...it's a hydro like it has been. Just a different, more robust transmission and final drives. Acts very nice from what I've driven it. Shift on the go from high to low, and low to high at the push of a button...and a diff lock for when times are sticky. Think of what the lightest combine on the market can do with diff lock...

Thanks for the update Chris. I lost my phone during harvest a couple days ago and kind of enjoying the quiet and being in the dark.

I take it the two speed hydro is shift worth a switch like the 8 series and not automatic like the 9 series. Our country would really prefer being able to know we are locked in low instead of guessing where that point is on the hydro of the 9 series. Got to try another brand last week with leveling and diff lock and that is really nice and will like that feature. That is much better than riding the uphill brake and creating heat and friction and using horsepower

Yes, low range is up to around 9mph depending on tire size, and can change to high above that, on the fly. It has a little hesitation, but nothing too bad. Better than an S9 when it happens to get caught shifting gears, that's for sure.

The diff lock will throw rooster tails in soft ground, I think it will be really nice for folks that need it.

Essentially, you got rid of the gear change buttons on the S9, and went with a Low button, High button, and Diff Lock button. Diff lock does also kick out above 20* turn angle, I believe.

The brakes are internal ball and ramp brakes, and should be much more stout than our current drum and shoe brakes. Not an issue for us, but for a lot of folks, they need better brakes...and we have them now.

The IDEAL is well over 50K lbs empty with this same basic setup...Gleaner is still under 35K lbs empty, so this should really give us some cushion on the reliability front for a long time. We hauled an IDEAL 8T in for training this week that was 56K on the truck...
