It would be basically like property taxes in my opinion. An asset that is paid for but I have a 2% sales tax every year on my rentals. 2% of assessed value. Taxing unrealized gain or getting rid of 1031 is a bad idea and I don’t know why anyone would suggest it in thier campaign.
