Hennepin, IL | Not saying you're wrong, but legally that would be a HUGE jump to go from eliminating stepped up basis to taxing unrealized gains. How would they handle gains one year and losses the next? Another thing to keep in mind is a law of the sort would disproportionately affect the swamp critters. Can't have that. So I only see it as an empty campaign promise from the left and fear porn for the right. | |
