Who is going to pay for all of the free money sent to the farmers?who is going to pay for all of the ex farmers ( who put the farm in a trust to keep the nursing home from getting it) that are sitting in nursing homes on the county.
Free money sent to farmer's generates income taxes.
It's also is one of if not the main driver in the exploding appreciating land values over the last couple decades. Kind of crazy isn't it, a bunch of farmers crying about the taxes they will pay when they inheret an asset that is losing step up in basis, on that asset that has appreciated in value because of the government largesse they have received.
