I have a rental house on a farm I grew up in that was built in 1923 ................. it has the original standing seam roof.
It is the aluminum color that needs to be painted every few years, and we have repaired around a chimney that goes through it, but no other repairs in 100 years.
Depending on your age and what time frame you are looking for ............... I'd sure give SS a look.
