| I live across the river from nauvoo. We have a view of the temple. The Mormons in that era where far from nice neighbors. They would come to your farm and demand some of your livestock or produce because they where gods people. If you ran them off, they would come back at night or when you where gone and steal . They where a selfish, righteous group that where closer to scoundrels. The hatred for them still runs deep locally and the later generations do not seem to care how offensive there past was.
