Subject: RE: New diabetes organization

Southwestern Minnesota
I am not talking about his message but rather his tactics.
It appears that Ken Berry, along with what looks like are Eric Westman and Ben Bikman recently set up a 501c3 and called it the American Diabetes Society. (Not to be mistaken with the the American Diabetes Association, but likely confusing enough to most to think they are one in the same.) Plus the website has no mention of any of their names or association with low carb diets.
The site has no educational material or information, other than what their mission is and a request for donations. There has also been a GoFundMe set up. They aren't going to take donations from Big Pharma or Big Food, so are going to rely on donations. Good for them- its going to take a lot of money in the form of donations to accomplish their goal of finding a cure for Type 1 diabetes. This has been worked on a long time with a lot more money than they are likely to collect.
I am not in complete agreement with the ADA. I agree that big money talks in the nutrition-world.
I'm just saying if Dr Berry has a message to deliver and a product to deliver- he's a doctor. If anyone should feel they can give "medical advice" it should be him. But yet he doesn't acknowledge himself on this website and notes that it is only giving general advice.
It seems a money-making ploy to me.
As any good entrepreneur- go for it. He believes in his message. He has some good points. However, this seems like a money-making ploy to me and some smoke and mirrors to hide behind.
