The last few years a group has gathered at a local campground for a fish fry in September. One of the guys is an avid crappie fisherman. He has been providing and frying the fish for the main dish, everybody else brings the side dishes. We were just informed that he will not be able to attend this year.

I need some ideas on what to cook for the main dish. It doesn't have to be fish. I'm not opposed to some other commercially available fish, but not catfish. The main dish needs to be economical, able to be cooked outside, and enough to feed 30-40 folks.

Any suggestions?
