I did some basis contracts back in the spring when I saw that locally there were some major vegetable acres that were going to be in corn/soybeans. Our local area will have grain coming out our ears because of the influx of new acres with 250+ and 70+ yield potential, you get 30 miles away there is a lot of prevent plant so that may even out some. Time will tell if that was a good idea or not.

However, I can deliver the grain and get a partial advance on the bushels under contract. Then I don't have to be paying storage or paying for the extra point of dry down since it counts as "sold". I can roll if later if I want too as well.
