EC SoDak | The reason there is a resistance is because they don’t believe in climate change nor CO2 storage. Frankly, most in rural areas don’t believe much in climate change, I’m one of them, at least to an extent. However, generally the US government gets what it wants, and if it doesn’t, it makes you pay dearly. So, as a business owner, you have decisions to make. Most farmers can’t make a decent grain marketing plan the year of, I doubt many are thinking years out on things they have less control on like pretty much every other business does.
As I mentioned below, my area fought the ethanol plant, dairies, hog barns, pipeline, etc because many don’t understand basic supply and demand functions. They were just worried about their dividend from the local coop. So, knowing the US and international governments are creating lower carbon requirements to be able to sell into markets, what do you suppose makes basic sense? | |
