EC SoDak | It’s a polarizing deal and it’s hard to have a discussion via the middle vs the for/against. As you said, it’s not that I’m a proponent of them, but if it’s going to happen, I sure think smart business sense dictates we plan for it and try to take advantage of it.
My area was very resistant to the ethanol plant coming in, dairies, hog barns, etc, pretty much everything. Hard to imagine how we would make it all work around here if everyone around us was more accepting and we weren’t. Poor basis, high variable costs, high fixed, but the land would be somewhat cheaper I suppose. | |
