Central SD | The area that has lead the resistance in the northern part of South Dakota and North Dakota was vastly underestimated. It’s an area that is different than southeastern South Dakota and Iowa. The resistance is organized and lawyered up. It’s a group of people that can be lead but you wont push them into something. The June primary here brought out the resistance in a large way so the legislature is further slanted against the pipeline. The precedent being set here is likely to determine private property rights for the next 100 plus years. The government’s reputation for making up rules as they go has created even more mistrust amongst most of us. I don’t think this will be resolved for several years. | |
