Subject: RE: Minnesota corn crop

I went from Mitchell SD to Lacrosse over the weekend, so I got to see the whole state along I90. My farmer eye thinks from about I 35 west is not as good as it usually is. Not the deep green that I've seen many other years and the corn is a lot shorter than normal. Short corn can still yield good, but it doens't look like the good crop that they usually grow there. I noticed too, drown out spots with a tile inlet in the middle of the bare spot. I guess it just cant handle that much excess. The soybeans look good for the most part. Some replant into drown out spots that are about a foot tall now. East of I35 roughly the corn had the deeper green and was taller. Just my $.02.
